Across Europe and far beyond, young calves and pregnant cattle from the dairy industry are transported over long distances under conditions that make animal suffering a calculated factor. Investigative research shows how a globalised system is maintained at the expense of animals, the environment and human rights for the profit of a few. Along the transport routes, responsibility, oversight and transparency disappear — along with the question of who is actually held accountable.
